In the interests of Child Safety and current legislative guidelines under The European Safety standards EN 13120, attempts, in as much as possible, to eliminate the risks of entanglement or strangulation of young and vulnerable children. These risks posed by unsecured loops in cords and chains attached to window coverings, have resulted in the British Blind manufacturing industry reducing the use of operating cords and chains in favour of child friendly operating systems.
In further promoting child safety we have a selection of retro fit Child Safety devices which retain or remove operating chains and cords away from the reach of children. Bits4Blinds also have available literature which conveys guidelines on removing the risks posed to children from blinds and window shade operating cords and chains.
