Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions should be read and understood before purchasing goods online from our website. When buying goods through our website you are entering into an agreement with Bits4Blinds (Fox Clough Farm, Birchenlee Lane, Colne, Lancashire BB8 8HL). The agreement will conclude when you have placed your order and received an electronic acknowledgement (email) confirming your payment and our acceptance of your order.
According to The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000, made to measure goods, including Blinds and Curtains which are produced to your individual specifications are described in section 13, paragraph 3.38. Unless it has been agreed otherwise, consumers cannot cancel if the order is for: The supply of goods made to the consumer's own specification such as custom made blinds and curtains.
This is an exception to section 10 of the regulation. The statutory 7 day cooling off period and rights to cancellation does not apply. Manufacture of your made-to-measure goods invariably begins immediately and therefore once your order is placed, accepted and confirmed, it cannot be cancelled or changed. We strongly advise that It is in your interest to double check all your measurements and read your order confirmation carefully to avoid costly mistakes.
PLEASE BE ADVISED; Bits4Blinds is NOT a VAT registered business and as such no VAT is included or added to the sales cost as displayed. Please do not ask for a VAT receipt in place of the standard invoice/payment receipt as this is not a possibility.
1. Products:
a) Description and photographic reproduction
The fabric and materials viewed on this website are either scanned or photographed and are digitally reproduced for the purposes of display and description only. Although we strive to display and describe all our products as accurately as possible, however, owing to different styles and settings of computer monitors upon which the scans are being viewed the quality and accuracy of colour and texture cannot be guaranteed. We therefore, strongly advise that you request a free sample before placing an order to avoid any disappointment arising from inaccurate shade, texture or pattern reproduction and the delivered goods.
Whilst every effort is made to ensure that colour matching is maintained from batch to batch of fabrics, minor or immaterial differences may occur and any slight variation in colour or pattern between the sample or description and the delivered goods, shall not entitle you to reject the goods nor to claim any compensation in respect to such variation or change.
b) Measurements and Dimensions
The Bespoke Made to Measure goods offered for sale on this website are produced specifically to your individual requirements and dimensions. It is your responsibility to understand the meaning of “Exact” and “Recess” sizes and to gain exact measurements and convey accurate dimensions during the order process. Your dimensions need to be given according to industry standard which is width first and height (drop) second = width x drop and it is also your responsibility to double check your measurements against your email confirmation. No changes to your order will be accepted once manufacture has begun. If you are unsure of the requirement of measuring, please take advantage of our detailed measuring instructions included on this website or send an email enquiry to our customer services team via our contact page.
No liability or returns will be accepted by Bits4Blinds, nor refunds given for goods produced from your incorrectly taken measurements or those dimensions conveyed to us via the web order form.
c) Made to Measure Products
Bits4Blinds produce only Made to measure products which are custom manufactured to your individual requirements and once made are suitable only to your purposes, therefore, once ordered and manufactured, they cannot be cancelled or returned. It is of vital importance that you are 100% sure of the product you have selected and the sizes of the finished item, before you place an order.
FIXINGS. NB. ALL FIXINGS (screws and plugs) SUPPLIED WITH OUR PRODUCTS ARE FOR THE INSTALLATION PURPOSE OF SAFETY DEVICES ONLY, ASSUMING FIXING TO A FLAT MASONARY STRUCTURE. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CHECK AND ENSURE THAT YOU OBTAIN AND USE THE CORRECT TYPE AND SIZE OF FIXINGS SUITABLE FOR THE LOCATION AND STRUCTURE TO WHICH YOU ARE INSTALLING THE BLINDS PRODUCTS.. No responsibility will be accepted by Bits4Blinds for any loss or damage caused by incorrect installation or use of the products.
d) Dimension Tolerances
Bits4Blinds employs the use of high precision machinery in the cutting process of materials as part of our manufacturing process. Although every care is taken to ensure exact sizing, an acceptable tolerance of plus or minus 3 millimetres is maintained. We will not accept to replace any goods if they are manufactured within these tolerances, nor will you be entitled to reject or return the goods.
e) Location suitability and add-on orders
All separate orders to Bits4Blinds are treated as individual and any order which is an add-on to earlier goods purchased from us cannot be guaranteed in, colour match, pattern or texture as shade and texture differences naturally occur from batch to batch in the weaving and dying processes. Requesting a sample of your chosen fabric will allow you to ascertain if a close enough matching is evident and/or acceptable.
We advise that you read the product description and information carefully for the type of blinds or spare parts you are considering to purchase in the information pages of our website to ascertain it’s suitability for the location in which you want to install the product.
Please note that orders of Spare Parts and Accessories cannot be returned or refunded unless damaged in transit (signed as damaged) or proven to be faulty or flawed during normal use. Incorrect ordering, no longer required due to changes in circumstance, or incompatibility to your product are insufficient reasons to return for refund. No refund will be given in these circumstances. Exchanges for correct or other items will be discretionary as will issue of Credit notes. In all instances, returning of items will be at customers own expense.
2. Delivery:
Your Goods will be delivered by one of our carefully selected, professional Home Delivery Network companies. We mainly use the services of DHL, UPS or smaller items by ROYAL MAIL and Goods are predominantly sent on a 2 - 3 day delivery or overnight carrier for delivery the next working day. We will send you an email confirming dispatch in order that you can make the necessary arrangement to to be available to receive and sign for your goods.
3. Prices:
All prices displayed on this website are in £ sterling (GBP). The price you will pay is the price shown at checkout stage and which will be reflected on your confirmation email. These prices are not including VAT and none is added. Standard delivery as indicated is to Standard UK destinations only. Certain remote areas, Scottish Highlands, Northern Ireland, Channel Islands and all other Off-shore destinations will incur extra delivery charges as indicated by our selected carriers current charging structure. We will inform you of these extra over delivery charges and gain your acceptance to pay these charges before your order becomes accepted as final by Bits4Blinds.
4. Online Payments:
Your order from Bits4Blinds will only be placed when the goods have been paid for in full by processing your payment through our secure on-line payment gateway system. Once received, your order will be checked thoroughly before we accept it as final and confirm by email. All major credit and debit cards or PayPal are acceptable forms of payment. Your authorisation for payment must be given at the time of order. During Checkout, your card details are encrypted to minimise any possibility of unauthorised access or disclosure and these details will be communicated through Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This means that you cannot inadvertently place an order through an unsecured network connection.
